Proof that fat loss is mainly about nutrition (30 pounds at age 50).
Maryann who is a single mom of 10 kids, 6 of whom are still at home with her, lost 30 pounds while going to college and going through an unpleasant divorce. When she first started the 1st Phorm Challenge she was nervous about not being able to do the video or make social media posts. I assured her the video and posting on social media was purely optional.
I encouraged her to continue to take pictures (with the day cards!) often and just focus on the process. She was concerned about not having time for the workouts, so I encouraged her to just focus on the diet for now and the process would still work.
I made her first 30 day progress post on InstaGram and she saw a guy heckle us in comments on her picture saying "that was nothing" and we are a farce. It made her mad and even more determined.
She has only had time to focus on the diet and not much time for workouts. But she is moving and graduating from college now her plan is to focus on workouts and muscle building moving forward. She took 1st Phorm protein and bliss for this first phase of her journey, and now she is looking at muscle building supplements and will be looking at those the next few days while on the road and purchasing them next week and starting her next phase. It's really an amazing story of determination and proof that the fat loss is mainly about nutrition even if the workouts are not quite up to what she wants yet.
Maryann does the Venus workouts and used the 1st Phorm Bliss and protein for the fat loss portion of her journey. She was not as consistent with the workouts as she wanted with all she has going on in her life, but she didn't give up her focus on the nutrition and calorie deficit which is proof that fat loss is mainly about the calorie deficit.
She lost 30 pounds. The time it took since January is not as important as the fact that she made it happen and never gave up. Realistically most of us women need more time. It took me 3 years to lose 85 pounds and I'm not a bit sorry about that. I did it in a sustainable manner like Maryann and I've kept it off over 5 years now, while the others around me mainly all rebounded. Not to discredit them, it is HARD to maintain. It's harder than the actual losing of the weight. Most people have a few more smaller yo-yo cycles before they figure out how to tighten it up.
Maryann is active in my Nibbles Fitness Facebook group and asks questions for the support of other women. It is a closed group for females only to support each other in our health and fitness goals regardless of brand of workouts or nutrition.
Maryann's next phase will be muscle building. She is looking over the 1st Phorm Post Workout Stack, BCAA's, MegaWatt, AlphaCre, and AlphaSurge. She is exciting to get settled in her new home and start working on the muscle building portion of her journey.
You can also build muscle and lose fat at the same time. I proved that several years ago and I have many clients doing that now. But sometimes like the season in Maryann's life this last year it's hard to get the workouts in. It's perfectly okay to take it in phases according to how you can fit it in your life.

Message on 2016-01-12 15:12:26 My name is Maryann and I am ready to change my life! I was married for 31 years but went through a painful divorce four years ago. From there, my life changed drastically. I became a single mom and a full time college student. I have 10 children, six who are still at home. They are 6, 7, 9, 10, 16, and 18. I also have four adult children and, currently, eight grandchildren. My entire life I have worked hard to be the best wife and mother I could be. However, by doing this, I put myself last. I am at a point in my life where I am ready to make the commitment to lose weight and get in shape. I don’t like how I look or how I feel. My closet is full of clothes that no longer fit and I spend my days in sweat pants and baggy tee-shirts. I just don’t want another year to go by with me “wishing” I was in better shape, or “wishing” I looked and felt better. I am ready to stop “wishing” and start making the changes needed! I want 2016 to be a year of hard work and successes. My birthday is in December and I am committed to being a completely different, and much better, version of myself by then. I have been inspired by seeing other woman turn their lives around and make the changes needed, yes, even in their 50’s. So, I am ready and excited to embark on this journey. #transphormation, #mytransphormation, #mytransphormationstartstoday Message on 2016-03-05 21:44:18 So real life happens for all of us! I was sick for a month and working out was not a possibility. However, I stuck to logging my food, always thinking of Roberta Saum saying "Trust The Process" and kept on swimming! I promised myself I would take updated pictures so this would be a true journey I could share with everyone. I am working hard to create a healthy lifestyle, not just complete a competition! So excited to be part of this and loving my 1st Phorm products! #transphormation, #mytransphormation, #mytransphormationstartstoday #thankyouroberta Message on 2016-04-29 03:59:09 I am making progress! Wow. Since January 4th, I have lost 25 pounds. After years of being "stuck" I am pretty excited about that! As a single mom of 10, with six still at home, parenting special needs children and going to college full time doesn't leave a lot of time. But I am moving forward! I love my 1st Phorm products and I know they are helping me reach my goal. I may be the turtle versus the hare but I have made steady progress and have kept moving forward for the past four months. I am so excited! This year is the year my 9th and 10th grandbaby are going to be born and they are going to have a healthy and happy Nana! I am blessed to have continued on the process. So, there is still a long way to go, but I WILL get there! And the results will just keep getting better! Thank you 1st Phorm and Roberta Saum! #transphormation, #mytransphormation, #mytransphormationstartstoday #mytransphormationcontinues #thankyouroberta Message 2016-05-30 15:01:12 I am down 30 pounds! Woot woot! I am so excited to continue to progress on this journey. What an incredible feeling to go into my closet and put on clothes I haven't work in 10 years! My friends and family are starting to notice and that feels good too. I treat every day like it is my very first day and continue to give it my all. Thank you 1st Phorm for helping me turn my life around! #transphormation, #mytransphormation, #mytransphormationstartstoday #thankyouroberta
